This week is my favorite week of the year… it’s my birthday week! We make a big deal of birthdays in our family, after all it’s the special day God brought us into the world!

My husband and I have a really fun date planned around 4 of my favorite things: Italian food, browsing through a book store, cheesecake and coffee. I can’t wait! The only hard thing is that my birthday date is planned on what could be the 6th (and very important) game of the Royals ALCS. We are very proud of our hometown baseball team but I have to admit… my stress level can’t handle all of these post season nail bitters!

This previous week was also a good one. Last Sunday we had Jack dedicated in church which was a such a special time for our family. I also got some really good new family photos, so that made me pretty happy too.

We also did our yearly trip to the pumpkin patch and, unlike last year, the weather was gorgeous! It was a fun afternoon to spend time together as a family and I love that my older two children are finally old enough to really get excited about these family traditions as much as I do! If you follow me on Instagram you saw a few photos of our pumpkin patch experience, including one of the cutest little pumpkins in my opinion!

The leaves have finally started to turn which makes for beautiful walks and scenic drives. Wednesday I was in a crabby mood so I knew we had to get outside pronto so I gave both Silas and Amelia a small brown paper sack and told them to be on the lookout for leaves, acorns, pinecones and other bits of fall goodness as we went on a nature walk. Our whole moods changed just by being outside and they were thrilled to collect all of their goodies too!

How how was your week? Have you been making and accomplishing and new goals?

Along with the fun family time, I actually did make some pretty good headway this week on my weekly goals. Sometimes it never feels like you accomplish anything during the week but when you go back and reflect on the previous week, you find you actually did do more than you thought!

On to the goals…

Weekly goals with grace

Last Week’s Goals:

Family Goals {Motherhood & Marriage}

  • Go to the pumpkin patch as a family
  • Take portraits of my children outside

Homemaking

  • Daily complete 75% of the Motivated Mom’s Checklist
  • Clean out and organize our medicine cabinet
  • Fill two boxes or bags of things around the house to donate

Personal Health and Wellness

  • Exercise at least three times – A few walks and one Jazzercise class
  • Finish reading For the Love, Money Making Mom and Girl Meets Change – Started reading the final book in the Redemption series and that pretty much has dominated my reading time. I love getting sucked into a good series and it’s always bittersweet when they end but it means I can get back to my regular reading schedule 😉

Blogging

  • Write everyday – I wrote most every day so that is progress from previous weeks. I think I’m finally getting over my slump!
  • Finalize new blog design – Since I’m a one woman show, I’m putting this project on the back burner for a few weeks.
  • Continue to plan out and outline the big, exciting new project – I’m oh so close!

10 Goals for This Week:

Family Goals {Motherhood & Marriage}

  • Take kids to the local farmstead for a field trip

  • Back up all my phone photos
  • Clean out and organize laundry room and cleaning supplies cabinet
