It’s birthday week in our house. Earlier in the week my son turned five (insert tear stained face) and today we celebrate my husband’s birthday. So last night we had a family get together complete with a Minion ice cream cake and party blowers.
The good news is all three of my children slept for a solid 10+ hours last night due to all the birthday fun. Winning for this tired Mama!
Goals with Grace
I don’t know what it is but I just can’t seem to get into a good groove this year, both at home and working on the blog. It’s been a weird few weeks where I just feel like I am running around in circles not feeling like I am accomplishing anything.
The crazy thing is that when I updated my goals below, I realized just how much I actually have accomplished… with the exception of that darn 2015 photobook!
I think I just need to shut myself in for about two hours and just knock it out!

Weekly Recap
In the process of cleaning out the kid’s shared room to move them into their new bedrooms, I discovered that they have infact inherited their flip flop loving hoarding ways from their Mama! On the bright side, we are now all set and ready for summer! Bring on the warm weather….
My three year old daughter… I love her to pieces but my oh my, can she bring it! She is what I like to call sugar and spice. Sweet and cuddly as can be but stubborn and strong willed as ever. She brings me to my knees on a daily basis. And some days (like the above mid-day text conversation with my husband) she completely wears me out.
Anyone else have a strong willed child? Please share your tips and parenting strategies on how you don’t loose it on a daily basis please.
Wednesday Silas turned five, although I’m still not completely sure how that happened! He asked for homemade pizza for his birthday dinner and all week he has been asking everyone he sees if he looks bigger. And of course this same week I got a Kindergarten round-up flyer in the mail…. be still my heart.
What’s On My Nightstand
Currently for fiction, I’m reading Hannah’s Choice. It’s OK so far. It hasn’t pulled me in like other fiction books but I’m far enough along now I want to finish reading so I know what happens.
I’m also finishing up Breaking Busy, a book I have been reading off and on for the past few weeks. It’s one of those books that is taking me long to read because I read a bit then need to soak on the truths. It’s really good and encouraging.
Finally I am starting to re-read The Mission of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson. I first read it when I became a mom but now that I’m further along in this journey I want to re-read it soaking up all of the great truths and wisdom Sally pours out.
